“Our land, our nature”: A Congress to #DecolonizeConservation
On September 2nd, we’ll be organizing the very first congress, “Our land, our nature”, to discuss how to #DecolonizeConservation, as an alternative to the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) World Conservation Congress taking place in Marseille, France, in September.
World leaders, corporate bosses and conservation NGOs will unite around making 30% of the globe “Protected Areas” and around “Nature Based Solutions” – which they claim are urgently needed if the rates of biodiversity loss and climate change are to be reduced. In fact, their schemes will make things worse.

This alternative congress will expose these as colonial and false solutions to these crises, and as approaches that destroy the best guardians of the natural world: the Indigenous Peoples who safeguard 80% of the world’s biodiversity.
It’s time to decolonize conservation and show them that alternative solutions exist!
The event will be live-streamed & you can register to attend in person here: https://www.ourlandournature.org/
