Our Story
SUCo-SA stands for the Sustainable Use Coalition of Southern Africa.
Our journey is guided by the conviction that responsible, renewable use of wildlife resources can uplift communities, preserve biodiversity, and create a future where conservation and livelihoods grow together.
SUCo-SA was founded on one simple truth: there is strength in unity and strength in numbers. By bringing together organizations across the South African hunting and wildlife sector, we amplify their voices and create a powerful, united front.
One of our main objectives is to secure the sustainable use of wildlife and natural resources — the only proven path to protect both people and wildlife for generations to come.
Why We Matter
Without unity, our sector is vulnerable to powerful opponents who could dismantle livelihoods and undermine conservation. SUCo-SA exists to protect that hope through open communication, real cooperation, and trust.
Our Global Role
At CITES, the world’s most influential wildlife trade forum, coalitions make the impact. SUCo-SA ensures our sector is represented where it counts most — in the committees, programs, and negotiations that shape international policy. By standing together, we safeguard sustainable use, defend against misinformation, and build global networks to secure the future of conservation.
