The State of Protected and Conserved Areas in Eastern and Southern Africa (Second edition)

December 2022 marked a pivotal and historic opportunity for our planet. Signatories to the Convention on Biological Diversity convened at the 15th Conference of the Parties to discuss and agree on crucial measures and targets to secure the most important areas of biodiversity and ecosystem functions globally, supporting human life now and in the future. The Global Biodiversity Framework, along with 23 targets, was agreed upon by the parties
to halt biodiversity loss, restore ecosystems, and ensure the sustainable use of natural resources by 2030.

  • I often said that the wild animals in Kenya are more domesticated than domestic cows in Switzerland, thanks to the abuses of the ecotourism. Ecotourism has also turned a proud tribe such as a Maasai Mara into professional beggars, what a shame! Grateful to Herman for exposing and sharing this hidden drama.
