Study to Give Logical Guidance to Government for Policy Development

CHASA, together with our partners within the Sustainable Use Coalition Southern Africa (SUCo-SA) have been approached by the organisation, Conservation Guardians, to assist in funding the conclusion of a project, known as a “Delphi Study” whereby a balanced and properly scientific body of scientific opinions, from a large pool of subject-matter experts, is collated to give good logical guidance to government for policy development. In this case, the policy would be the Norms & Standards for elephant, rhino, lion and leopard. The Delphi Model is specifically designed to minimise emotional inputs and extract best science for practical conservation and management, including hunting and other forms of sustainable utilisation.
